                    The Petitioning Process

You will need two Master Masons of Silver Square Lodge to recommend you if you are petitioning for membership. Once we have your petition/application, Criminal Background, and Health Checkup/physical.

Your application will then be assigned to a Committee of Investigation, who will contact you to meet/talk with you. This process gives you a chance to ask any questions you may have about this Fraternity and the membership process.

Your petition will be read, and the results of your meeting with the Committee of Investigation and your background check will be announced. The members will then vote on your petition.  A unanimous (100%) vote is required for membership. You will be notified of the results of that vote as soon as possible. If your vote was successful, you will be given instructions on when to come down to the Lodge to begin your Masonic journey.

           Military and our Wounded Warriors

If you are a member of the Military or a Wounded Warrior and are wondering about how that might influence the petitioning application process, or whether Military Service is compatible with Freemasonry.

About half of our Lodge is connected with the Military in some manner (VA,Reserve,Guard,Employment).

We have several members on active duty, and have often made special plans to accommodate training and deployment schedules. Let us know your concerns and we will see what we can do to work with your situation.

Are you a wounded warrior? We thank you for your service and sacrifice.

We have several members of Silver Square who have been wounded in the service of our Nation. If you have any concerns about whether a combat injury might disqualify you from membership in some way, please stop by sometime and talk to us. We will do everything we can to answer your concerns and accommodate your individual situation.

Thank you again for your service.
